NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 19, 2026--

Lumina Markets Inc. today launched its web and mobile application, available to U.S. customers, establishing a new regulated pathway for retail traders to participate in prediction markets.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261019217325/en/

Through Lumina, users can access event contracts listed on ForecastEx, a CFTC-designated exchange and Interactive Brokers affiliate. The contracts address questions such as Federal Reserve rate decisions, U.S. tariff measures, which party holds majorities in Congress, daily temperatures in Los Angeles, and which AI lab delivers the leading model.

Each contract is structured as a simple Yes or No question. Contracts trade at prices between $0 and $1, and those prices express the market’s collective view of the likelihood of the outcome.

“Everyone has views. Lumina’s job is to give those views a market,” said Zalan Gaal, founder and chief executive of Lumina Markets. “The hard part is building something serious enough to be worth their time and simple enough that they do not have to be specialists, without it turning into a game along the way. That is what we have tried to do.”

Lumina does not offer sports contracts and has no gamification mechanics. The company is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as an introducing broker and is a member of the National Futures Association.

The company is backed by Thomas Peterffy, the electronic trading pioneer who founded Interactive Brokers Group and is credited with digitalizing access to financial markets. Peterffy invested in a personal capacity.

“ForecastEx is pleased to see Lumina bringing our contracts to a wider audience,” said Peterffy. “A market works better the more people can participate in it.”

Lumina is available to U.S. persons 21 and older through web and mobile apps on iOS and Android.
