New AquaCo systems and compatible cartridge upgrades extend options for complete home water filtration
PERTH and MELBOURNE and BRISBANE, Australia, Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- AquaCo Water Filters, a 100% Australian-owned water filtration business, is bringing Disruptor technology to more Australian households through new whole house water filters and replacement water filter cartridges for compatible existing whole-home and undersink systems. Disruptor targets the PFAS compounds PFOA and PFOS, together with chlorine, chloramines, lead and copper.
Launched in early 2025, Disruptor represents what AquaCo describes as an Australian first: a whole-home replacement cartridge combining reduction of PFOA and PFOS with chlorine, chloramines, lead and copper.
Independent SGS laboratory testing of a Disruptor sample recorded more than 98.9% PFOA reduction and more than 99.0% PFOS reduction in an initial test. The results underpin AquaCo's focus on making advanced filtration accessible, whether a household is installing a new system or upgrading an existing one.
Choosing a complete home water filtration system
Households looking for complete home filtration systems can choose an AquaCo whole house water filter equipped with Disruptor cartridges. A correctly installed whole-home system treats water before it reaches connected taps and showers, making filtration part of drinking, cooking and everyday washing.
Disruptor is also available beyond complete AquaCo units. Standard 20-inch cartridges give owners of compatible existing whole-home systems a practical upgrade option while retaining their housings. The range also includes 10 × 2.5-inch and 9 × 2.5-inch cartridges for compatible undersink systems, extending the choice to households seeking filtration at a dedicated drinking-water outlet.
Whole-home options include 20 × 4.5-inch cartridges. AquaCo's Super-Seal cap version fits compatible AquaCo housings, while standard-format cartridges suit selected third-party systems. Size, end-cap design and operating requirements must match the installation, and AquaCo helps customers identify the right option for their system and water supply.
The current mains-water Disruptor cartridge combines depth filtration with premium catalytic carbon. AquaCo also offers a distinct Disruptor BIO range for applications requiring additional filtration capabilities, allowing product selection to reflect the intended water source and treatment needs.
Laboratory results for PFOA PFOS chlorine and metals
Alongside the initial PFOA and PFOS results, separate laboratory tests of Disruptor samples reported reductions across the other named contaminants:
- Chlorine and chloramines: free chlorine reduction was at least 99.5%. Total chlorine reduction in the chloramine challenge ranged from 92.7% to 99.3%.
- Heavy metals: lead reduction ranged from 98.8% to greater than 99.6% across tests at different pH levels. AquaCo's published copper results exceeded 99.9%.
PFAS analysis used US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 537.1:2020, with the initial reduction test referencing NSF/ANSI 53-2022. Chlorine and chloramine challenge tests referenced NSF/ANSI 42-2022. Lead and copper analysis used EPA Method 200.8. PFOA and PFOS are specific PFAS compounds; these results apply to those named substances.
Results relate to laboratory-tested samples under specified test conditions; performance varies with cartridge, water quality and use.
Whole home filtration for everyday water use
For households considering the water used in their skin and hair care routines, whole-home Disruptor filtration offers a way to target chlorine and chloramines in that supply, alongside the other named contaminants.
Customers can contact AquaCo to discuss a new whole house filtration system or compatible replacement options for an existing whole-home or undersink installation, and confirm availability. The company combines Australian product design with international filtration components and local support for selection, installation and servicing.
