China's New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a key logistics route connecting western China with global markets, recorded a record-high trade volume in the first three quarters of this year.
The combined import and export value of the "13+2" provinces, autonomous regions, and cities along the trade corridor reached 787.06 billion yuan (about 117.86 billion U.S. dollars) in the first nine months, up 11.5 percent year on year, marking a record high for the period.
To date, the range of goods transported through the corridor has expanded to more than 1,100 categories. Electric vehicles and agricultural products from western China are accelerating their journey to overseas markets via the corridor, while specialty fruits from Southeast Asia are entering Chinese consumer markets rapidly through cold-chain freight trains.
With an operational hub based in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, this trade corridor connects global ports via railways, sea routes and highways through southern Chinese provincial regions such as Guangxi and Yunnan.
