Founded in Dallas in 1999, CityVet has built its reputation on a people-first approach that puts veterinarians and their teams at the center of its business. The company carefully selects veterinarian partners who share its commitment to exceptional medicine, servant leadership, and creating workplaces where people feel valued and supported. Through its veterinarian ownership model, these doctors have the autonomy to lead their own practices and shape the culture of their clinics, while benefiting from the resources, mentorship, and operational support of a larger network. This shared commitment to putting people first helps foster a positive workplace culture across CityVet's clinics and home office.

"We've always believed that when you take care of your people, they can do extraordinary things for the pets and families who depend on them," said David Boguslawski, CEO of CityVet. "Our veterinarian partners are at the heart of that philosophy. They lead by example, build teams where people genuinely enjoy coming to work, and create the kind of culture that makes CityVet special. As we continue to grow, we're committed to supporting those leaders and preserving the culture they've helped build."

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from our people, and it's a reflection of the incredible teams who make CityVet what it is every day," added Boguslawski.

The Best Workplaces in Health Care award is based on an analysis of survey responses from nearly 222,000 employees at Great Place To Work Certified™ companies in the health care industry. The recognition reflects CityVet's ongoing investment in creating a workplace where team members feel valued, heard, and supported, with opportunities to develop their skills, advance their careers, and help shape the future of their practices.

CityVet's approach emphasizes what the company calls "Freedom Through Trust," giving local teams the autonomy to make decisions while providing the resources and support of a larger organization. From mentorship and continuing education to leadership development and opportunities for practice ownership, CityVet is committed to building meaningful, sustainable careers in veterinary medicine. The company also prioritizes open communication and employee feedback to ensure its culture continues to evolve alongside its growth.

The Best Workplaces in Health Care list is highly competitive. Great Place To Work, the global authority on workplace culture, determines its lists using its proprietary Trust Index™ Survey to evaluate and certify thousands of organizations in America's largest ongoing annual workforce study, based on more than 1.3 million survey responses and data from companies representing more than 7.3 million employees.

Survey responses reflect a comprehensive picture of the workplace experience. Honorees were selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for employees regardless of job role, work status, or other demographic factor.

"Congratulations to the Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care," says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. "People are at the heart of work in every industry, and health care is no exception. These companies show how delivering for your people drives financial performance and turns fear of the future into the confidence to win."

This latest honor builds on CityVet's growing list of workplace accolades. In 2025, CityVet first appeared on the Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care™ List and ranked No. 11 on Glassdoor's Best Places to Work list for small and medium companies. The company has also earned Great Place To Work Certification™, with 88% of employees reporting that CityVet is a great place to work.

Microsoft has offered 60,000 employees, or about 27% of its global workforce, voluntary buyouts as the software giant spends heavily on artificial intelligence.

The company's voluntary exit offer was available to eligible employees in Canada, India, the United Kingdom and the United States, the company's Chief People Officer Amy Coleman wrote in a blog post Monday.

“The Voluntary Exit Offer is new for us,” Coleman wrote. “We’ll learn from it. At the same time, we’ll keep helping people focus on the work that matters most, build new skills and, where it makes sense, find new opportunities across Microsoft.”

The company, which releases its quarterly financial results Wednesday, had approximately 223,000 full-time employees at the end of June.

Shares of Microsoft Corp., based in Redmond, Washington, hit an all-time high this month. The stock rose about 1% on Monday.

In May, Microsoft planned to offer buyouts to about 8,750 people, or 7% of its U.S. workforce, according to two people familiar with the plan who were not authorized to speak about it publicly. In July, the company said it was cutting 4,800 jobs, about 2.1% of its global workforce, including a large number of workers at its Xbox video game business.

The gusher of investment in data centers — likely topping $700 billion this year — to power artificial intelligence has made memory chips, computer processors and other equipment, as well as electricity, more expensive. Economists expect it will continue to push up inflation at least through the end of this year.

Microsoft has been ramping up its AI capabilities for several years. In 2024 the company revealed a new class of AI-imbued personal computers that centered on fusing its AI assistant, called Copilot, into the Windows operating system for PCs, where Microsoft already has the eyes of millions of consumers.

And in October 2025 Microsoft introduced a new artificial intelligence character called Mico, a floating cartoon face shaped like a blob or flame that embodies the software giant’s Copilot virtual assistant.
