Golden Bake Pushes Biscuit Automation Further with Smart Ingredient Handling at the 140th Canton Fair

From storage and dosing to baking, Golden Bake's automatic silo and material-feeding system aims to lower costs, raise productivity and support ESG goals.

ZHUHAI, China, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Golden Bake, the flagship baking equipment division of EVERGROWING MACHINERY COMPANY LIMITED, brought its biscuit machines and moulds to the 140th Canton Fair. A 3D model, however, offered a fuller picture of its approach to factory automation. It showed how intelligent silos, automated dosing and conveying systems could work alongside mixing, forming, and baking as one production line.

Much of the work starts before the dough reaches the mixer. Flour needs to arrive in the right quantity and at the right time; a delay here can hold up everything downstream. To address this situation, Golden Bake's automated ingredient handling system is designed to keep production stages running in step.

"Biscuit manufacturers focus on three things: safe operations, product quality, and productivity," said Golden Bake's marketing manager at the fair. "We wanted to show how smart ingredient handling and line-wide controls can cut flour dust exposure and weighing errors at the source, while keeping production moving."

Flour Dust is the First Problem

Before flour reaches a mixer, it must be unpacked, sifted, moved, and stored. Increased exposure to airborne dust and contamination results from manual tipping. The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) states that flour is a flammable dust that, in some circumstances, could cause an explosion.

Golden Bake's feeding station combines bag emptying, 30-mesh sifting, and dual-suction, negative-pressure dust extraction. Up to 50kg of flour per minute can be fed and screened through a pulse-cleaned cartridge separator with food-grade anti-static filter media and a rotary valve at the hopper base.

The pneumatic conveying system then transports flour in sealed pipes to storage, including between floors. The powder handling system and the electrical system are designed in compliance with the explosion-proof requirements of GB 50058-2014 and AQ 3009-2007. In a 1,000 kg buffer hopper, dust is controlled by gravity separation and filtration, with intermittent agitation at the bottom to avoid bridging and blockages.

Three Minutes Weighing and ±200 Grams Error

Precision ingredient dosing is not merely about hitting a target weight. The real challenge is keeping small dosing variations from becoming larger process inconsistencies.

A Golden Bake food technologist explained, "With mixed-flour recipes, even a small shift in the ratio can change water absorption, dough strength, and forming performance. In high-volume production, that quickly shows up in biscuit thickness and texture."

That concern is increasingly reflected in bakery investment priorities. According to Baking Business, 59% of respondents to a 2025–26 industrial bakery capital spending survey cited improvements in quality, consistency, and precision among their key investment objectives for 2026.

Golden Bake's automatic dosing system is controlled by a PLC and an HMI touchscreen for ingredient feeding, weighing, and discharge. The 1,000 kg automatic weighing hopper can be fed with different flours separately, by vacuum feeding and pneumatically sealed discharge, to feed horizontal, vertical, or other mixers.

The weighing cycle for a two-flour recipe is about 3 minutes. The tested tolerance is ±200 grams. The system supports recipes and weighing data recording, which helps with product changeovers and reduces the impact of operator turnover.

Cut the Cost of Waiting

Even accurately weighed flour does little good if the mixer is waiting for powdered sugar. And when mixing stalls, the rest of the production line can follow.

Golden Bake's integrated bakery production line is designed to close those gaps. The PLC-controlled scheduling allows sugar to be milled and weighed online and additives to be metered to recipe. Separate temperature-controlled modules pump oils, water and other liquids into the mixer in parallel. This means less waiting for ingredients and a steadier supply of dough to form and bake.

Setups can be adapted to the product, ingredients, and biscuit machine involved. A cookies production line, for example, puts more emphasis on the order in which sugar, fat, and flour enter the process. A cracker production line may require staged mixing and fermentation.

Retrofit, or Build From Scratch

Baking Business also revealed that, among the surveyed bakery enterprises, 32% are focusing on upgrades and retrofitting, while 22% plan to add new equipment or production lines by 2026.

Golden Bake's modular feeding system can be configured for integration with existing biscuit lines, depending on the plant layout and existing equipment. Furthermore, to support clients in establishing new facilities or expanding production areas, Golden Bake offers turnkey biscuit factory solutions—covering everything from facility planning and equipment layout to manufacturing, installation, and on-site commissioning.

Alongside the multifunction cookies machine and cream puff production line shown at the fair, its range includes the biscuit sandwich machine, biscuit creaming machine, and wafer stick machine.

As more biscuit makers invest in automation and digital controls, Golden Bake is expanding its global service network and using its engineering experience to help customers improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and extend the useful life of production assets.

Autodesk named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Construction Management Software 2026 Vendor Assessment

Autodesk leads the future of construction with a design-to-operate platform, embedded AI agents, and open partner ecosystem.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) today announced that IDC MarketScape has positioned the company in the Leaders Category of the inaugural IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Construction Management Software 2026 Vendor Assessment (September 2026, IDC #US54135526).

The assessment evaluated Autodesk's construction management capabilities and strategies. According to the IDC MarketScape, "For the purposes of this research, the IDC definition of construction management software for this report is as follows: Software platforms that manage the construction lifecycle, including the following segments: BIM integration, coordination, conditioning/preparation, preconstruction; project management; virtual design and construction (VDC) and project team collaboration."

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of technology and suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each supplier's position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures supplier product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of supplier strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5 year timeframe. Supplier market share is represented by the size of the icons.

In its profile, IDC MarketScape notes Autodesk's three areas of strength:

  • Deep construction industry experience combined with a design-to-operate platform that includes project and geospatial information, as well as a digital twin offering to simplify post-project handoff.
  • Embedded AI agents that are targeted for certain tasks (model info, schedule, RFIs, submittals) as well as a general Autodesk Assistant for cross-domain work and model analysis.
  • Partnership ecosystem model: Autodesk Platform Services (formerly called Forge) provides a set of applications, APIs, and an open approach for development of new applications. It also has multiple construction communities and partner advisory councils to drive close customer engagement. One large general contractor customer describes its long-time relationship with Autodesk as "mutually beneficial;" other customers express similar sentiments.

In its guidance to buyers, IDC MarketScape says to consider Autodesk when seeking "a single construction management platform across the project life cycle that supports BIM visualization, model coordination, preconstruction, project management, and post-project operational hand-off, as well as an extensive, strong partner ecosystem of providers and a global team that complements the suite of products."

"Construction management software is increasingly being evaluated on its ability to connect workflows, data, and project teams across the construction lifecycle," said Jeffrey Hojlo, research vice president, industrial ecosystems, engineering, & product innovation strategies, IDC. "Autodesk's positioning as a Leader reflects its broad construction management capabilities, investments in embedded AI, and established partner ecosystem. Together, these are important considerations for organizations seeking to improve collaboration and continuity throughout project delivery."

Connecting construction workflows through Autodesk Forma

Autodesk is leading the shift toward more connected, AI-powered project delivery. Autodesk Forma, the industry cloud for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), unites architects, engineers and builders in one connected process instead of a chain of handoffs, using AI to weigh key decisions against desired outcomes, like cost, schedule and sustainability requirements. Forma's open ecosystem includes more than 400 integrations through technology partners and Forma Construction Connect, giving construction teams the flexibility to work with the tools they already use.

The construction management strengths noted by IDC MarketScape are central to that strategy, helping Autodesk build stronger connections across the AEC project lifecycle.

"Construction is entering a new era, where information needs to move with a project and inform decisions from design through delivery," said Lalith Subramanian, vice president, product and engineering, Autodesk Construction Solutions. "I believe IDC MarketScape's recognition is significant because it highlights both the strength of our construction capabilities and our design-to-operate platform. That's the future we're building with Autodesk Forma, bringing design, engineering and construction closer together, with AI embedded in project workflows to help teams move faster, make better decisions earlier, and design and build with greater confidence."

Autodesk is continuing to expand its construction capabilities within Forma. At Autodesk University 2026, the company announced Forma Bid, now in beta, to help contractors compare bids and identify potential gaps in scope; AI-powered insights in Project Home in Forma Build that surface project issues needing attention; and the Daily Log Agent, which turns spoken jobsite updates into structured daily logs.
