CCIDA sponsors architecture exhibition to showcase representative public infrastructure in Hong Kong

Sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, and organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Biennale Foundation, the Hong Kong Response Exhibition to the Hong Kong Exhibition at Biennale Architettura 2025 in Venice (Venice Biennale of Architecture 2025) is being held from today (November 2) to November 15 at Urban Sky, Hysan Place, in Causeway Bay, and Knotting Space, H Queen's in Central, with around 30 sets of exhibits showcasing representative public infrastructure in Hong Kong.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries, Miss Drew Lai, remarked that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has been supporting Hong Kong's architecture sector's participation in Venice Biennale of Architecture and staging the Hong Kong Response Exhibition since 2010, with a view to promoting Hong Kong's architectural culture on the international stage. The theme of this edition's roving exhibition, "Projecting Future Heritage: A Hong Kong Archive", closely aligns with Hong Kong's future development needs. She called on the architecture sector to continue working together with the Government to contribute to the architectural aesthetics and practical functionality of Hong Kong's developments including the Northern Metropolis.

The Hong Kong Response Exhibition is the last stop of this edition of the roving architecture exhibition series, featuring Hong Kong's lesser-known and under-researched yet classic composite buildings, multifunctional market complexes, co-op housing, public housing estates, and street infrastructure. The series, after exhibition at Venice Biennale of Architecture 2025 in November 2025, was on tour in Bangkok, Thailand from January to February 2026, and Shanghai in June 2026.
