A global dialogue on China's governance and world development was held in Kuwait on Tuesday, drawing more than 100 representatives from the academic, business and media circles of both countries.

Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as China's national governance experience, the alignment of China-Kuwait development strategies, and prospects for deepening practical bilateral cooperation.

The participants noted that the recently concluded fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) made systematic arrangements for strengthening full and rigorous Party self-governance with perseverance, which provides a strong guarantee for advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization on all fronts, and also offers a successful model for countries around the world exploring paths of governance.

The plenary session has drawn widespread attention from the international community, with China's development experience and the CPC's governance practices emerging as focal points of global discourse.

During a panel discussion, guests enthusiastically exchanged views on topics such as long-term effective governance, science and technology innovation, economic development, and environmental protection.

"I have studied in detail the important outcomes of the fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and I was deeply impressed by many of its contents. The CPC's governance of the country has evolved into an increasingly comprehensive ideological system, continuously providing useful references for other countries with its own experience," said Abdullah Sahar, former director general of the Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait. China's development experience in smart cities, infrastructure, clean energy, and digital technology is highly compatible with Kuwait's goals of promoting economic diversification and accelerating modernization.

Moving forward, both sides aim to further leverage their respective strengths and translate development visions into more practical cooperation results to inject new momentum into the common development of both countries and regional prosperity.

The event also featured screenings of promotional videos for premier programs produced by China Media Group (CMG), including "Records of Chinese Craftsmanship: Intelligent Robot Manufacturing" and "China Flash Forward", vividly showcasing China's remarkable achievements in cutting-edge fields and its steady progress on the path to high-quality development.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday that Russia has never closed its door to the West and remains ready to cooperate with Western countries that abandon hostile thinking towards it.

Meanwhile, Lavrov stressed that Russia does not want or plan to wage war with Europe, but is prepared if Europe decides to initiate conflict.

The prospect for direct dialogue with Europe remains unclear, Lavrov said, noting that the West is departing from the objective trend toward multipolarity globally.

Lavrov made the remarks at the fourth Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security that opened in the Belarusian capital on Tuesday.

The event hosted by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry brought together more than 600 representatives from around 50 countries and regions.

In his opening speech, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted that building a sustainable security and development model in Eurasia is a practical necessity that will benefit the world.

He said that the high level of protests across Europe should raise caution, and urged EU nations to seek avenues for cooperation.

The Belarusian president also said that the Ukrainian crisis could potentially trigger another major war and expressed hope that a peaceful resolution will be found swiftly to the conflict.

The agenda of the two-day Minsk conference includes arms control, the role of new technologies in security, and the development of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which has six members: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
