ZD Energy Unveils Overseas Smart Energy Solutions in Thailand, Leveraging Local Manufacturing and Scenario-Based Capabilities to Support the Country's Energy Transition

2026-11-06 22:12 Last Updated At:23:55

CHONBURI, Thailand, Nov. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 6, ZD Energy (02650.HK) held the global launch of its overseas smart energy solutions and charging robot products in Chonburi, Thailand. The company officially introduced smart energy solutions for residential and public settings to the Thai market, including its megawatt-scale flexible liquid-cooled charging stack. On the same day, ZD Energy signed strategic cooperation agreements with multiple partners to accelerate the local deployment of related products and services in Thailand.

The event attracted customers and partners from several Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia, as well as countries in the Middle East. According to the company, choosing Thailand as the launch destination for these scenario-based solutions and new products reflects its commitment to deepening its presence in the Thai market and supporting the country's green energy transition. With a more comprehensive product portfolio and full-scenario coverage spanning residential and public applications, ZD Energy aims to provide integrated green energy solutions for local households, operators, industrial parks, and commercial facilities. The company also looks forward to working with more partners to build Thailand's green mobility ecosystem.

Thailand's First Dedicated EV Charger Manufacturing Facility, Ranking No. 1 in Market Share Across Both Product Categories

ZD Energy's localization journey in Thailand began in 2022. Against the backdrop of growing cooperation between China and Thailand in the new energy industry, the company selected Thailand as its first destination for an integrated overseas business model. In 2024, with the support of the Thai government, industrial park authorities, and local industry partners, the Chonburi factory officially commenced operations. It is Thailand's first dedicated EV charger manufacturing facility and the first overseas factory established by a Chinese EV charging company. On the day of the event, the facility celebrated the delivery of its 100,000th EV charger.

By establishing its manufacturing and supporting operations in Thailand, ZD Energy has created nearly 1,000 local jobs and gradually built a nationwide installation and after-sales service network. The company now has a service team of more than 300 people in Thailand, supported by over 2,000 partner electrician teams.

To date, ZD Energy has achieved cumulative sales of 100,000 AC chargers in Thailand, with a market share of over 80%. Its DC chargers have also secured a market share of over 20%. Both product categories rank No. 1 in their respective markets in Thailand, serving a wide range of applications, including residential properties, commercial facilities, and public charging stations.

As its local presence continues to grow, ZD Energy has also attracted attention from various sectors in Thailand. In 2023, Phumtham Wechayachai, then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand, learned about the company's business development during the China International Import Expo (CIIE). In 2024, ZD Energy presented EV chargers to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. In September this year, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul met with ZD Energy's Thailand team and recognized the company's smart charging products and its contributions to the local new energy industry.

A Leading Position in the Home Charging Market, Expanding Deeper into Smart Home Energy

Building on its AC charger business, ZD Energy has established a strong customer base in Thailand's home EV charging market. The launch of its smart home energy solutions extends the company's business beyond EV charging into solar power, energy storage, and energy management. This move builds on ZD Energy's existing capabilities while aligning with Thailand's policy direction to accelerate the adoption of residential solar energy.

Recently, Thailand's Ministry of Finance introduced the "Solar for All" initiative, proposing a budget of THB 50 billion for subsidies covering residential solar equipment and installation. The program aims to support the installation of rooftop solar systems in up to one million households, transforming rooftops into sources of energy generation.

Designed for Thailand's hot and humid climate and diverse residential rooftop conditions, ZD Energy has introduced an integrated three-in-one solar and energy storage system that combines an inverter, battery management system, and energy storage battery in a single unit. With inverter output of up to 12 kW, the system can support rooftop solar installations covering approximately 100 square meters and connect to up to 20 kWh of battery storage. For households with existing solar installations, ZD Energy has partnered with TSUNESS to introduce energy storage products ranging from 5 to 16 kWh, meeting the retrofit needs of newly built villas, apartments, and existing solar-powered homes.

Looking ahead, ZD Energy is also bringing its AI energy management platform and Pioneer Robot home charging robot into residential settings. Integrated with Thailand's local electricity pricing schemes, the solution coordinates solar power generation, energy storage dispatch, and EV charging, enabling more households across Thailand to enjoy greener, smarter, and more convenient energy services.

Advancing DC Charging Toward Megawatt-Level Ultra-Fast Charging, Accelerating the Upgrade of Public Charging Infrastructure

Public charging is another key area in which ZD Energy is actively contributing to Thailand's energy ecosystem. The company has established a portfolio of DC charging products covering multiple power levels, serving a range of applications including commercial charging stations and fleet operations. The newly launched megawatt-level flexible liquid-cooled charging stack is set to drive the upgrade of local public charging infrastructure toward higher power output and greater efficiency.

Designed with Thailand's climate and charging demands in mind, the product adopts liquid-cooling technology to enhance long-term operational stability in the country's hot and humid conditions. To address the diverse charging needs of multiple vehicle types at highways, industrial parks, and large public charging hubs, it also features flexible power distribution technology that dynamically allocates charging power, improving the utilization of available electrical capacity at charging sites.

For areas with limited grid capacity or high grid expansion costs, ZD Energy also offers integrated solar-storage-charging solutions. By coordinating solar power generation, energy storage, and charging equipment, these solutions help ease grid capacity constraints, reduce energy costs for operators, and increase the utilization of clean energy.

Looking ahead to the future of smart mobility, ZD Energy is also integrating its Lingxiang public charging robot with solar-storage-charging systems to develop an "AI Energy + Autonomous Charging Robot" public solution for operational scenarios such as Robotaxi fleets. This initiative explores new models of intelligent energy replenishment for the era of autonomous driving.

Deepening Local Industry Collaboration and Connecting with Global Partners

As its product portfolio and business operations continue to expand, ZD Energy is strengthening its partnerships with both local Thai and international companies. At the launch event, ZD Energy signed cooperation agreements with eight sales and distribution partners, further enhancing its local sales channels and service network.

ZD Energy also entered into a strategic partnership with TSUNESS. The two companies will jointly develop integrated solar-storage-charging appliances, guided by the vision of making energy storage more appliance-like and EV charging smarter. Their collaboration will also extend to supply chain coordination, localized manufacturing, international sales, and e-commerce channel development, with the shared goal of accelerating the market adoption of smart energy products. Thailand will be among the first pilot markets for their global cooperation.

Looking ahead, ZD Energy plans to further increase its local investment in Thailand. The company aims to expand the annual production capacity of its local factory to 200,000 AC chargers and 1,000 DC chargers, while establishing production capacity for 10,000 sets of residential solar and energy storage systems annually.

Going forward, ZD Energy will further strengthen its strategic positioning as an AI-powered smart energy service provider, turning more technological innovations into practical solutions that benefit households and businesses across Thailand. By supporting the country's green energy transition, the company also aims to grow alongside Thailand's local industries.

About ZD Energy: ZD Energy is a global technology company specializing in AI-driven integrated solutions for smart energy and robotics. With a strong focus on the R&D of smart energy systems and intelligent robotic hardware, and powered by its AI digital intelligence platform, ZD Energy delivers integrated, one-stop solutions for residential and public applications worldwide. Silversea celebrates the opening of the 150-room hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring performances by local children and artists

MIAMI, Nov. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has officially opened The Cormorant at 55 South, a new 150-room hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, the southernmost city on Earth. Marking a historic moment for the brand and a first-of-its-kind venture for Silversea and Royal Caribbean Group, the hotel opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 5, featuring Silversea executive leadership, Chilean national and regional authorities, and members of the local community. Developed in partnership with a consortium of Chilean investors, the hotel reflects the region it calls home while acting as the new gateway to Silversea's Antarctica Fly Cruise program. Every guest on the Antarctica Fly Cruise expedition will now arrive in Puerto Williams on a Silversea-branded charter flight and stay at The Cormorant, before continuing their journey to the Last Continent.

"Today marks a defining moment for Silversea," said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. "We opened The Cormorant at 55 South to make the journey to Antarctica easier and more comfortable for our guests. Now the expedition begins here, in a hotel designed around Puerto Williams, with the same service our guests expect while on board our ships. Silversea has always been about going further, and this is another example of how we are continuing to invest in the guest experience."

A FIRST FOR SILVERSEA AT THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE WORLD

The Cormorant carries on the leadership Silversea established in 2008, when it pioneered luxury expedition cruising, from the ship to the shore. Staffed by a team trained through The Silversea Way, Silversea's service culture, the hotel brings the brand's personalized service to the first welcome in Puerto Williams, and it was built to the standard guests expect on board. Built using modular construction, each of the 150 rooms were built in Mendoza, Argentina, and transported across the Andes and Patagonia to its place at 55 degrees south.

Its architecture and interiors draw on the landscape, local traditions, and regional materials, and that sense of place extends through the experience. Three large-scale works by Chilean artists bring the landscape, geology, and ecology of the far south into the hotel, while food and beverage begin with the destination itself and are built around local ingredients.

THE START OF THE ANTARCTICA FLY CRUISE JOURNEY

Guests on an Antarctica Fly Cruise expedition fly non-stop from Silversea's private terminal in Santiago to Puerto Williams on Silversea-branded charter flights and stay at The Cormorant before and after their voyage. Inside, the design moves guests from water and darkness toward warmth, wood, and fire.

Each space is designed to bring the region to life, making the destination the very heart of the experience.

  • Latitude 55: Rooted in Chilean flavors, regional ingredients, and local culinary traditions – like the asado – The Cormorant's restaurant, Latitude 55, brings Chilean Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, and Puerto Williams to the table. Menus start with what grows, grazes, and swims in the region, and dinner is served family-style, with large platters at the center of the table.

  • Bar Sur: The hotel's social center serves teas and small bites by day and Chilean wines and spirits in the evening, with a wine list that tours Chile from north to south. Calafate, a deep indigo native berry, anchors the cocktails alongside Chilean Pisco, a national spirit, in flavors that are tart, herbal, and warm, with a hint of smoke that echoes the asado fire. Other experiences include a guided Pisco journey led by the Bar Sur team and wine tastings led by the hotel's sommelier.

  • Fireplace: Inspired by the regional tradition of fire as a place for hospitality and storytelling, the Fireplace offers plush seating and expansive windows overlooking the Patagonian landscape.

  • Art and Design: Three large-scale works by Chilean artists anchor the interiors: Navarino, a steel sculpture by Paola Vezzani suspended in the main lobby; Dientes de Navarino, a bar mural by Cata Flaño; and La Memoria de las Piedras, an installation of seventy handcrafted ceramic stones by Javier Canales.

  • Outdoor Experiences: Guests can kayak the sheltered waters of the Beagle Channel, hike the shoreline trails of Seno Lauta, and explore the landscape on horseback, with plenty of chances to spot cormorants, dolphin gulls, and upland geese along the way.

OPENING DAY: A CEREMONY SHAPED BY PUERTO WILLIAMS

The grand opening of The Cormorant drew on the music, history, and community of Chile's far south.

Los Chamames de la Patagonia, a folk ensemble founded in Punta Arenas in 2015, performed a Patagonian chamamé with children from the local Grupo Folklorico. The musical tradition has Guaraní roots in northeastern Argentina and traveled south with seasonal workers, shepherds, and families. Local schoolchildren sang the Chilean national anthem, accompanied by young musicians.

The ribbon, featuring natural junco fibers handwoven by local artisans, featured a chain of interconnected circles that symbolize the connections between people, cultures, and territories, and a meeting point between Patagonia, its communities, and travelers from around the world. Specially designed links allowed the hotel's leaders and Chilean authorities to cut it together while the woven circles remained intact.

STARTING WITH 29 ANTARCTICA FLY CRUISE VOYAGES

The Cormorant represents a long-term investment in how Silversea delivers the Antarctica experience.

Through March 2027, Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind, and Silver Cloud will operate 40 voyages, including 29 Antarctica Fly Cruise voyages, each featuring a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South. The season's itineraries range from six to 21 nights and extend beyond the Antarctic Peninsula to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
