A video at a circus in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, northern China has been released recently. It shows a lion and tiger attack a horse by biting it.
The tiger pounces on the back of the horse and a lion bites its legs. A tamer tries to separate them by whipping the animals, but it's useless to help. Then other tamers help.

Mr Xu, a staff member from Taiyang Circus explained to the media that the incident happened a month ago and the crew was preparing a show that a tiger and a lion riding a horse with a saddle on.
"Lions and tigers are wild animals. They are different from horse(s). You can see from documentaries that they eat cows. This is absolutely normal," he said.

The tiger was hit by at least four circus workers using whiplash and long poles until the horse was set free.
Mr Xu said he was not worried the safety of the staff members as those animals were at their young age.
It's claimed that the white horse survived and only got minor injuries.

Even the animals were safe, many netizens criticised the behaviours of the circus.
"Shut down the circus! This is too cruel to both wildlife and domestic animals!" one said.
