A Japanese woman on Twitter has posted a series of selfies of herself being abused by her grandfather who staves her to weight 37lbs at her young age. She wrote, "ask for help before it's too late" to urge those who are suffering from the similar abuse or eating disorders to seek help.

The Kyoto-based woman said the photos were taken ten years ago when she was given treatments in hospital. She looks extremely thin with her protruding hipbones and rib-cage in those photos.

She told that her grandfather had refused to feed her and she was "forbidden to eat". She would be physically abused, like being kicked on the belly or being forced to spit out the food, if was caught eating in secret.

As a result, she weighed just 16.8 kg, 37 lbs in the photos. When she was rescued, experts told her she was only ten minutes away from death.
Some netizens doubted if the photos are the fake ones, so she uploaded other images of herself when staying in hospital to prove her words true.

The woman is now in her 20s and has recovered from the adversity happening in ten years ago.
