Commercial films were screened and free movie events held in the summer holiday across China, offering moviegoers plenty of choices while making great films more accessible to the public.
At a cinema in Xi'an City of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, diverse types of films attracted many viewers.
"It's the summer holiday, so I brought my child here," said a moviegoer surnamed Ma.
"Throughout August, comedies, mysteries, kid-targeted productions as well as cartoons which are popular among children, and science fictions all hit the screen, proving rich varieties and numbers for the summer season," said Hui Chaojie, general manager of a cinema.
The film authorities of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China organized a film screening event in August to show to the public eight free movies recently released and award-winning films produced in the Inner Mongolia in recent years. In Shenyang City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, free film screenings were held in bustling streets and parks. "This month, we will show patriotic movies to the public at 14 fixed points in the city, and also hand out free bottled water and cultural and creative gifts," said Huang He, staff member of Shenyang Film Company Limited.

Innovative and futuristic logistics and delivery applications have caught the eyes of the visitors at the ongoing China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing.
This year's CIFTIS, from Sept 12 to 16, featured a special exhibition on supply chains and transportation with three themed zones - travel services, smart logistics and transportation, and supply chain security. Over 200 well-known domestic and foreign companies participated both online and offline, showcasing cutting-edge technologies, products, and innovative solutions.
In China, delivery within the day or next day is common, which is supported by the hard work of couriers and innovative solutions.
A six-rotor multi-purpose network-connected drone with the maximum loading weight of 20 kg was displayed at the exhibition booth of the express delivery service China Post. Integrating a high precision positioning device, millimeter wave radar and visual perception system, it can meet a wide range of application needs in the fields such as delivery, search and rescue, and mapping.
When it comes to more challenging transportation scenarios such as islands and plateaus, medium-sized drones are more adept. They can be used in high-altitude and island environments, featuring advantages such as long endurance and heavy payload capacity.
"The T100 model drone has made its debut at this CIFTIS with the maximum loading weight of up to 50 kg. This type of drones are currently ready for takeoff in provinces of Sichuan and Zhejiang, and Chongqing Municipality," said Shen Jing, deputy general manager of the Marketing Department, China Postal Express and Logistics Co., Ltd.
China Post has set up a drone transport and delivery team, equipped with multiple types of drones which have flown for 16,000 sorties and transported more than 160 tonnes of freights. The company has piloted the use of drones for terminal deliveries in the provincial-level regions of Anhui, Chongqing, Jiangsu and Sichuan.
In the supply chain security zone, many smart logistics achievements are on display, focusing on building a secure and stable dual circulation supply chain layout for both domestic and global markets, reflecting the development concepts of technological empowerment and green transformation.
"For example, with unmanned driving network resources, we can create a comprehensive logistics information application platform. Through this platform, we can foster an ecological management model for the entire industrial park, boosting its greening and intelligence," said Zhang Yusen, investment promotion manager of a smart logistics company in Beijing.
