China's logistics industry exceeded the 1-trillion-yuan mark in total revenues as of Sunday, according to the State Post Bureau (SPB) on Monday.

The top three express delivery enterprises in revenues were SF Express, ZTO Express and YTO Express.

The revenues of China's logistics industry exceeded 1 trillion yuan for the first time in 2021, and this year the time to hit the 1-trillion-yuan mark was nearly one and a half months earlier than last year. China has established a service network of postal and express delivery with nearly 200 cargo planes, more than 270,000 express delivery vehicles and 413,000 business outlets of nearly 3,000 distribution centers in urban and rural areas to handle more than 400 million express parcels every day.

"In the next step, we will continue the high-quality development with digital and smart empowerment, and strengthen the construction of the delivery network, especially the business in rural areas and global market," said Liu Jiang, director of strategic planning research department with Development and Research Center of the State Post Bureau.

China remains the most important part of Apple's supply chain, said the company's CEO Tim Cook on Friday.

Cook made the remarks ahead of his meeting with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Beijing.

"It remains the most important part of our supply chain," he said.

Cook said that the CCPIT has always been Apple's crucial partner.

"We're so happy to reengage and talk about moving forward and the opportunities in front of both of us," said Cook.

The CEO reaffirmed the importance of China and expressed willingness to visit China again in the future.

Cook embarked on his first visit to China this year, earlier this month, the latest of his many trips to the country in recent years, as a testament to Apple's close ties with the Chinese market.

His Beijing trip followed a visit to Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, earlier this week. Cook is expected to attend the China Development Forum 2026, scheduled to be held in Beijing on March 22-23.
