The Zhuhai port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) saw about 22,600 inbound and outbound vehicle trips on Saturday, a daily record since the bridge's opening in 2018.
Among them, about 14,500 trips were made by vehicles carrying plates from Hong Kong and Macao, setting another daily record since the opening of the bridge.
According to the bridge's border inspection station, the Zhuhai port of the bridge had seen over 95,400 vehicle trips made between Tuesday and Saturday, the first five days of the week-long National Day holiday, up 57.43 percent year on year.
The 55-kilometer-long HZMB links China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the Macao SAR and the city of Zhuhai in south China's Guangdong Province. It is the world's longest bridge-and-tunnel sea crossing.

The 2024 Innovation Conference kicked off in east China's Shanghai Municipality on Thursday with the launch of a new lab targeting the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Experts and scholars from renowned universities and research institutions, along with leaders from technology companies and financial institutions gathered to discuss prospective applications in artificial intelligence, biomedicine and other areas.
At the opening ceremony, an artificial intelligence technology and governance innovation laboratory, jointly established by China Media Group (CMG) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was launched.
The laboratory will focus on exploring the innovative applications of "responsible AI" technology, as well as the innovation and reform of AI governance systems and mechanisms.
CMG has also launched a new round of strategic cooperation with the three major Chinese wireless carriers, China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile, to deepen the integrated development of ultra-high-definition (UHD) video on both large and small screens.
A batch of independent innovative technological achievements in 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) shooting, production, broadcasting, and transmission were released.
The White Paper on Science and Technology Innovation 2024 was also released.
Other sub-forums on fields such as financial innovation, large models, application of technology achievements, biomedicine, and the low-altitude economy are set to be held.
