The 31st China Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Achievements Fair concluded on Tuesday in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, with 198 projects signed and a total contract value exceeding 23 billion yuan (about 3.2 billion U.S. dollars). The five-day event is one of China's most comprehensive trade events in agriculture, gathering over 1,800 enterprises from 49 countries. Additionally, sales within the exhibition halls surpassed 100 million yuan (about 14 million U.S. dollars). Among the many innovations presented, a seedling transplanting machine drew considerable interest. This machine not only mimics human planting techniques but also enhances seedling survival rates. More than 200 online influencers were also invited to the event, highlighting the increasing role of digital communication in agriculture. "We will share the new technologies and varieties we learn about here, while also establishing a communication bridge for farmers, technical organizations, and agricultural input enterprises that cannot attend the conference," said Ma Chunxin, an agricultural practitioner and online influencer. To support companies in project execution, the Yangling Fair implemented proactive measures such as early insights and precise matchmaking. "Prior to the meeting, the organizing committee recognized that we primarily focus on smart agriculture. Connecting leading enterprises with the Shenzhen delegation feels more pragmatic, allowing for swift and targeted project implementation," said Li Hong, deputy secretary-general of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Industry Association. This year's expo also featured a series of activities focused on international cooperation and the demonstration of agricultural robotics. "We need to apply and integrate new-quality productive forces across all areas of agriculture and throughout the entire agricultural production process to promote the modernization of agriculture and rural areas," said Wei Houkai, director of the Rural Development Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
