China's upcoming 'two sessions' are poised to spur global economic growth, fuel scientific breakthroughs, and accelerate the green transition, according to international experts in interviews with China Central Television (CCTV).

The "two sessions" are the annual meetings of China's top legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), and the top political advisory body, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), scheduled to open on March 5 and 4, respectively.

Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan, executive director of the Islamabad-based Center for South Asia and International Studies, believes China's "two sessions" will create new opportunities for emerging nations through its "common prosperity" concept.

"The global governance or global shared prosperity concept of Chinese President Xi Jinping, [comprise] a lot of valuable public goods, especially the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative. I personally think that president Xi's three global initiatives will be the blessing for the developing and underdeveloped countries," he said.

Khan believes China's "two sessions" will showcase the country's economic strength, which he predicts will drive continued global economic expansion.

"I have been studying very carefully about the so many 'two sessions' in the past. This [year's] 'two sessions', which will be held in the month of March, have great significance, great significance in terms of economic stability, sustainability, and diversification, not in China, not in region, but the global level," he said.

During the lead-up to China's "two sessions," political experts from other countries have expressed recognition for China's advancements in key areas, including science, technology, and green development.

"We have seen a lot of upgrades in manufacturing, especially when it comes to upgrading in smarter, and also greener manufacturing sectors. Not just in terms of the manufacturing process itself, but also the kind of output, the innovative output that has been coming out from China, the green products, have been amongst the key drivers for Chinese economic growth," said Christine Susanna Tjhin, director of Strategic communication and Research at Indonesia's Gentala Institute.

"I think globally, the world anticipates to see what sort of pronouncements and policy directions are going to come out of the meeting of the 'two [sessions']. We saw China taking the lead in terms of heavy-duty manufacturing, and now they have shifted focus to high-tech manufacture, artificial intelligence, and the like. They are quite a leading player now in the digital technology development," said Zali Chikuba, interim executive director of the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR).

China's movie industry is increasingly deriving its earnings from broader consumer economy.

Released during the 2025 summer season, the film "Nobody" became China's highest-grossing two-dimensional animated film -- and its success went beyond theaters.

Through licensing and brand partnerships, the movie has generated 2.5 billion yuan (about 358.3 million U.S. dollars) in retail sales to consumers, with more than 800 licensed products on the market.

Ranging from plush toys to food and home goods, the movie-related merchandise can be purchased from over 3,000 online and offline outlets.

Meanwhile, souvenir stores are crowded at Shanghai Disneyland's Zootopia themed land, with hats, plush toys, and collectibles seeing steady demand from visitors.

"China's film industry is no longer defined by box office revenue alone. It has become a new growth engine that links and energizes multiple cultural sectors. At the heart of every successful film is strong storytelling. High-quality productions create cultural value, which in turn enhances the commercial value of intellectual property and opens up new consumption opportunities. I believe China's film industry delivered an outstanding performance in the past year," said Chen Xiaoda, vice dean of Shanghai Vancouver Film School.
