In addition to dispatching 82 members of the China Search and Rescue Team for earthquake relief in Myanmar, the Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management has coordinated 10 non-governmental rescue teams, comprising a total of 145 rescuers, to support the coordinated relief effort, according to Hu Xinyu, coordinator of non-governmental rescue teams with the China Search and Rescue Team.

"The Ministry of Emergency Management coordinated 10 non-governmental emergency response teams, totaling 145 personnel, to participate in rescue operations in Myanmar. They are standardized in terms of professional skills and equipment support," said Hu, speaking in Myanmar.

Chinese non-governmental rescue teams have played a significant role in Myanmar's earthquake relief efforts, helping to rescue eight survivors and recover the remains of 37 individuals.

Reflecting on the historical ties between China and Myanmar, Ge Haoyi, commander of the International Rescue Mission with Xiamen Dawn Emergency Rescue, shared his thoughts on the significance of their presence in Mandalay.

"Mandalay is a special city. It is a historic city in Myanmar. In fact, it was also a central hub along the southern route of the Silk Road and an extension of the ancient Tea Horse Road. For over a thousand years, the people of China and Myanmar have shared a relationship of mutual benefit and support. So I believe that our presence here for rescue operations is also a continuation of the friendship between our two peoples," said Ge.
