The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 50,846, with 115,729 others injured, from Israeli military operations since October 7, 2023, Gaza health authorities said on Wednesday.

In the past 24 hours, Israeli military operations killed 33 people and wounded 41 others in Gaza, the health authorities said.

Since the March 18 resumption of the Israeli military operations which led to the collapse of a two-month ceasefire, 1,482 Palestinians have been killed and 3,688 injured, according to Gaza's health authorities.

In addition, Israel launched two rounds of airstrikes on the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in northern Gaza City on Wednesday, bringing the cumulative death toll to at least 35, with many others injured, according to the Palestine News and Information Agency WAFA.

A source within the Israeli military revealed that a senior Hamas member was killed in the airstrikes, though this claim has not been officially confirmed by Israeli authorities yet.

Over the past weeks, the Israeli army has been expanding its military buffer zone in the southern Gaza Strip as part of its ongoing operation, now planning to include Rafah, with other areas along the Gaza border, The Times of Israel reported.

The Israeli military has not yet made an official response to these actions.

Due to Israel's ongoing blockade of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies, along with its continuous military operations, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing a severe humanitarian crisis, according to a report from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Wednesday.

Aid workers and facilities have also been targeted by Israeli forces. Since March 18, the UN has made 170 attempts to enter Gaza and deliver aid, but 68 percent of these requests have been denied by the Israeli side.

Displaced people in northern Gaza are now enduring harsh living conditions, with extremely crowded living space and a severe shortage of food, water, and sanitation supplies, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said.

China's movie industry is increasingly deriving its earnings from broader consumer economy.

Released during the 2025 summer season, the film "Nobody" became China's highest-grossing two-dimensional animated film -- and its success went beyond theaters.

Through licensing and brand partnerships, the movie has generated 2.5 billion yuan (about 358.3 million U.S. dollars) in retail sales to consumers, with more than 800 licensed products on the market.

Ranging from plush toys to food and home goods, the movie-related merchandise can be purchased from over 3,000 online and offline outlets.

Meanwhile, souvenir stores are crowded at Shanghai Disneyland's Zootopia themed land, with hats, plush toys, and collectibles seeing steady demand from visitors.

"China's film industry is no longer defined by box office revenue alone. It has become a new growth engine that links and energizes multiple cultural sectors. At the heart of every successful film is strong storytelling. High-quality productions create cultural value, which in turn enhances the commercial value of intellectual property and opens up new consumption opportunities. I believe China's film industry delivered an outstanding performance in the past year," said Chen Xiaoda, vice dean of Shanghai Vancouver Film School.
