The ongoing fifth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), which reached its midpoint on Wednesday in Haikou, in south China's island province of Hainan, has so far registered 150 billion yuan (about 20.4 billion U.S. dollars) in intended transactions between sellers and buyers.
A further 52 project agreements were signed during three official matchmaking sessions, including 20 agreements at a special session dedicated to country-specific products.
The event has seen strong engagement from both Chinese and international exhibitors, fostering broad cooperation in areas like procurement and trade.
Francisco J. Nunez, president of FrankNDesign, an American company specializing in integrating digital modeling into themed design, said he was impressed with products that demonstrated China's technological advancements.
"It is very impressive the amount of technology. The Chinese population is always ahead of whatever is new, whatever is next, they're the ones testing it out," he said.
Davit Mkhitaryan, vice president of the Armenian Chinese Partnership Center (ACPC), said his organization had made valuable connections with several local companies.
"This event is very high level. We have established good contacts with local distributors and companies. There's also very good strategy that China developed. If we cooperate with China, the possibilities will be shared to all other countries," he said
The CICPE is the only national-level exhibition in China focused on consumer goods. This year's event, running from April 13 to 18, has drawn record participation from over 4,100 brands across 71 countries and regions.
From Thursday, the expo will open to the public, giving consumers a chance to see the latest technological innovations and cutting-edge applications.
