Dongguan-Hong Kong International Airport Logistics Park, which offers China's first sea-air transshipment service directly connecting a logistics park to an airport's airside, has handled the shipment of goods worth more than 24 billion yuan since it was launched two years ago.

Since it went into operation on April 18, 2023, the Logistics Park has offered seamless logistics connectivity for businesses exporting or importing goods from within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Logistics Park streamlines regulations and systems between Guangdong Province, where Dongguan is located, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, extending the key cargo handling functions of Hong Kong International Airport into Dongguan, which enables direct air cargo loading and unloading.

"From factory departure to customs clearance, palletizing, security inspection, loading, and shipment, the entire process can now be completed in just 14 hours. We are continuously optimizing processes to improve efficiency, and we expect to save an additional two to three hours in the future," said Chen Enhao, a customs officer with the logistics monitoring department at Shatian Customs.

The faster speeds mean transportation costs have also been reduced by approximately 30 percent for shippers compared to the traditional model.

Over the past two years, the Logistics Park has shipped over 24,000 tons goods to 48 countries across the world, accelerating global access for manufacturers across the Greater Bay Area.

"We have built an information system at the center that meets the regulatory requirements of customs in both Dongguan and Hong Kong, as well as the security control needs of the Airport Authority Hong Kong. This has improved efficiency, reduced costs for enterprises, and achieved positive social outcomes," said Gao Jianying, deputy head of the Shatian Customs.

Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodriguez said on Sunday that the country is at a critical stage and must achieve national unity, emphasizing that maintaining internal cohesion is of utmost importance.

In a televised address, Rodriguez called on the public to continue trusting the government under the current highly complex political circumstances.

Her statement comes in the wake of a January 3 military operation conducted by the United States, during which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were taken into custody and flown out of the country.

The operation resulted in at least 100 fatalities.

Rodriguez, who was sworn in as acting president two days later on January 5, framed her appeal for unity against this backdrop of external intervention.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information Freddy Nanez denounced the U.S. actions as a "war crime of the 21st century" when speaking at an international cultural event on Sunday.

Nanez condemned not only the January 3 airstrikes but also the associated cyber and electromagnetic attacks.

He accused the United States of violating international law through the forced removal of President Maduro and his wife, while attacks on civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities, represent a flagrant breach of humanitarian norms.

He reiterated that the stigmatization and military attacks against Venezuela are driven by economic interests, particularly the desire to control its abundant natural resources.
