Xi to meet Colombian President in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping is going to meet Colombian President Gustavo Petro at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday morning.

Petro arrived in Beijing on Monday for the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum, which was held on Tuesday.

Colombia took over CELAC's rotating presidency from Honduras in April this year.

China launched a Long March-8A carrier rocket on Tuesday in the southern island province of Hainan, sending a new group of internet satellites into space.

The rocket lifted off at 23:25 (Beijing Time) from the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site. It successfully placed the payloads, the 18th group of low-orbit internet satellites, into preset orbit.
