The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in southwest China's Sichuan Province has shared heartwarming videos of panda cubs, including one of two playful cubs scaling a tree and another of a cub nudging its sleepy companion awake.
In one video, two panda cubs appeared to be engaged in a friendly competition, giving their all to climb the tree while keeping a close eye on each other's progress.
The other video showed a delightful scene of a sleepy panda cub lounging peacefully on the grass, while another cub tried to wake it up by gently shaking it and crawling over it.
The Chengdu base is a world-renowned center for the ex-situ conservation of giant pandas. It also serves as a hub for scientific research, public education and ecotourism. The institution is internationally recognized for its efforts to protect and breed giant pandas, red pandas and other endangered wildlife species native to China.
