Chinese troops participating in the ongoing China-Cambodia "Golden Dragon 2025" joint exercise carried out humanitarian assistance activities in local Cambodian communities on Monday, offering free medical services and educational support.
At Bim Health Center in Kampong Chhnang Province, Chinese medical teams set up temporary clinics with specialized departments including cardiology, respiratory medicine, and general surgery to serve local residents.
The Chinese side also donated 5,700 boxes of essential medicines covering 39 different types to Cambodian health authorities.
"We expanded our outpatient departments, increased the number of medical specialists, and diversified our medicine supplies. We also integrated Chinese and Cambodian medical staff into joint teams for the free clinic. I have truly felt our two nations growing closer and more connected through these activities," said Yi Xianchu, a member of the Chinese medical team.
The humanitarian efforts were extended to a local school, where Chinese troops distributed over 1,000 stationery items and 100 sets of sports equipment.
Chinese troops engaged with students through sports activities and classroom interactions, encouraging them to become envoys in the future to carry forward the friendship between China and Cambodia.
"Delivering friendship, knowledge, and healthcare to local communities is not only a key component of our joint exercise, but also a practical step taken by the two sides to realize common development and prosperity. We will continue to do this work even better," said Peng Wei, a Chinese participant of the joint drill.
The China-Cambodia "Golden Dragon 2025" joint military exercise commenced on May 17, continuing the tradition of bilateral defense cooperation between the two nations. This year's drills, conducted under the theme "Peace, Friendship and Cooperation," primarily focus on joint counter-terrorism operations and humanitarian relief missions.
Initiated in 2016, the "Golden Dragon" exercise series have now been successfully conducted seven times. The annual event has evolved into both a routine military exchange program and a symbol of the enduring friendship between China and Cambodia.
