Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Sunday that China is ready to work with Indonesia to elevate political mutual trust and strategic coordination between the two countries to a higher level.

Li made the statement in talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during his official visit to the Southeast Asian nation.

Before the talks, Prabowo held a welcoming ceremony for the Chinese premier at the square of the Merdeka Palace.

At the talks, Li first conveyed cordial greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Prabowo, noting that China and Indonesia are good neighbors and good partners.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 75 years ago, the two sides have supported each other and stood by each other, and their traditional friendship has remained firm and ever-relevant, Li said.

During Prabowo's China visit in November last year, the presidents of the two countries reached important consensus on building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future that has regional and global influence, which has taken bilateral ties to a new historical high and opened up broad prospects for cooperation, Li said.

China, Li said, is willing to work with Indonesia to adhere to the original aspiration of establishing diplomatic relations, carry forward the tradition of friendship, and enhance unity and cooperation.

He added that the Chinese side also stands ready to consolidate cooperation in the "five pillars" of politics, economy, people-to-people and cultural exchange, maritime affairs and security, jointly address risks and challenges, and better promote common development.

Li pointed out that China is willing to work with Indonesia to enhance the alignment of development strategies, and deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, especially by optimizing and strengthening landmark projects.

He urged the two sides to further enhance the "golden brand" of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, and promote the construction of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project.

Li said both sides should enhance market connectivity and industrial collaboration, improve the level of trade and investment facilitation, and expand cooperation in areas such as finance, new energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence (AI), aerospace and the ocean.

China is willing to expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Indonesia, facilitate personnel exchanges, deepen cooperation in areas related to people's livelihood such as food and agriculture, poverty reduction and health, and bring more benefits to the two peoples, said the premier.

At present, the rise of unilateralism and protectionism has severely disrupted the international economic and trade order, Li noted, adding that confronting such risks and challenges, solidarity and cooperation remain the only viable path forward.

Li said that China stands ready to work with Indonesia and other developing countries to jointly uphold the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Bandung Spirit, and implement the three major global initiatives.

He called for steadfastly upholding multilateralism and free trade, promoting an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, resolutely safeguarding common interests, and jointly advancing peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

For his part, Prabowo asked Li to convey his cordial greetings and best wishes to President Xi, noting that Indonesia and China have a long history of friendly exchanges and the people of the two countries boast deep friendship.

Noting this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Indonesia-China diplomatic ties and the 70th anniversary of the historic Bandung Conference, Prabowo said that Indonesia is willing to take this occasion as an opportunity to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, promote the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, and enhance peace and development in Asia and the world.

Prabowo spoke highly of the progress in bilateral cooperation, noting that Indonesia is ready to learn from China's experience in poverty reduction, rural development and other aspects, deepen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, finance, infrastructure, green economy, artificial intelligence, education and other fields, and enhance the level of industrial cooperation.

Prabowo said he welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Indonesia, adding that the country stands ready to work with China to implement the consensus on maritime joint development, promote faster advance in the consultations on the code of conduct in the South China Sea (COC), and jointly safeguard peace and stability in the South China Sea.

Indonesia looks forward to making joint efforts with China to carry out close communication and cooperation on multilateral platforms such as the ASEAN and BRICS, firmly support multilateralism, oppose protectionism, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and jointly tackle global challenges, said Prabowo.

After the talks, Li and Prabowo witnessed the signing of cooperation documents in fields including economic development policies, industrial and supply chains, and finance.

Li arrived in Jakarta earlier on Saturday for an official visit to Indonesia at the invitation of Prabowo.

Following the visit in Indonesia, Li will also travel to Malaysia and attend the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-GCC (the Gulf Cooperation Council)-China Summit in Kuala Lumpur on May 26-28.

A special movie-themed flight campaign lifted off with Xiamen Airlines on Tuesday, blending film culture with tourism promotion to deliver a unique in-flight experience for passengers ahead of China's upcoming May Day holiday.

The campaign took off aboard a plane operated by Xiamen Airlines, which are based in east China's Fujian Province, bringing the magic of the big screen to the small screens on passengers' seats.

The aircraft's cabin has been adorned with film-themed posters and exclusive decorations, with brochures introducing the featured film content placed in seat pockets.

During the flight, the crew also hosted an interactive question-and-answer session, where they promoted some of the top films scheduled for release during the five-day May Day holiday which begins on Friday.

They also shared insights into the featured films, including the cultural and tourism resources of their shooting locations, giving passengers inside cinematic info and essential travel tips during their trip.

The immersive themed experience resonated well with passengers on the flight, who say they are now eager to check out some of the latest film releases.

"There are eight films recommended here, and I'm going to watch them when I get back. I'm keen to see Cold War 1994, because I'm a big fan of Aaron Kwok and the other cast members. I have been following the film all along," said Wang Jianghai, a passenger on the flight, as he expressed his interest in the upcoming crime thriller set in Hong Kong.

The flight attendants involved say they enjoyed having their role extend beyond the standard service duties during this particular plane ride, as they led passengers on this cinematic voyage.

"Today, we are more than just flight attendants. We are more like guides for this movie-themed journey. At 10,000 meters in the air, we get to plant a seed in our passengers' hearts that will make them want to take a trip or go watch that film. We want this to be the start of a beautiful memory for them," said Zhu Yanyan, the flight's chief attendant.

The launch of the themed flight comes as China braces for a surge in travel and cultural consumption during the May Day holiday. By integrating cinematic content with air travel scenarios, the campaign seeks to build a seamless link between the film and cultural tourism sectors, unlocking new growth momentum for both industries.
