The relationship between China and Pacific Island countries has been strengthened over the recent years, with significant progresses made in various fields.
According to the General Administration of Customs of China, trade between China and Pacific Island countries reached a total volume of 6.3 billion U.S. dollars last year, marking a substantial increase.
Medical cooperation has also seen notable expansion. By 2022, China had dispatched 600 medical personnel to Pacific Island nations, benefiting over 260,000 local residents.
Additionally, China has provided free medical services over 100 times for these countries.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, China extended its support to Pacific Island countries by delivering nearly 600,000 doses of vaccines and over 100 tonnes of medical supplies to assist the region in the fight against the virus.

Footage shot from the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday has shown supermarket shelves appearing well stocked and marketplaces still operating, with the government reportedly taking steps to ensure the supply of daily necessities amid the ongoing U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Video taken by a China Global Television Network (CGTN) reporter showed markets and shops continuing to operate as usual, with efforts being made to ensure the supply of essential goods and key commodities.
Iran said on Thursday that 1,230 people have been killed in U.S. and Israeli strikes since fighting began on Saturday.
The death toll was announced by Iran's Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs in a statement on its website.
