Major cultural landmarks and theme parks across Shanghai are rolling out first-of-their-kind activities as summer approaches, offering residents and visitors fresh options for leisure and consumption.

The city's Yu Garden, a popular destination filled with traditional architecture, has transformed into a performance space, with the famous Nine-turn Bridge and Mid-Lake Pavilion serving as stages for dance and cultural sharing.

Similarly, the Sinan Mansions -- century-old buildings filled with rich cultural flavor in a quiet corner of the city -- launched temporary guided tours alongside a pop-up market for cultural and creative products.

"Our main products are shaped fridge magnets. We have incorporated many fresh and interesting elements to make them more fun. We sell about a thousand of them every month," said Chen Yuanyuan, a stall owner at the market.

The newly established Shanghai Yaoxue Water World, located in Shanghai's Lingang Pilot Free Trade Zone, is now open to the public.

As the city's first large-scale aquatic entertainment facility in 12 years, it provides a variety of leisure options, enhancing new cultural and tourism consumption experiences.

"Actually, there are not many water amusement projects in Shanghai. However, kids really love water parks like this one. It's indoors, so I think it's quite suitable for a visit in summer," said a visitor.

In another exciting development, the LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort in the city's suburban Jingshan District has officially commenced its trial operation phase, debuting globally innovative attractions such as the world's first "Monkie Kid" theme zone and an exclusive canal cruise inspired by traditional Jiangnan water towns. These initiatives not only expand travel options for visitors but also stimulate the surrounding hospitality and dining sectors.

"It's our first family-oriented theme park in the Yangtze River Delta region. We strongly believe that LEGOLAND Shanghai will contribute to the tourism industry for Shanghai and will attract many Chinese and international visitors to Jinshan District. China is a very important market for us, so LEGOLAND Shanghai is only the first step," said Siegfried Boerst, Managing Director of LEGOLAND Resorts in China.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned on Sunday that Tehran would view the United States and Israel's military bases and facilities in the Middle East as "legitimate targets" should Washington take military action against Iran.

At a parliamentary session convened to review an emergency proposal on assembly regulations, Qalibaf emphasized that, at this highly sensitive juncture, Iran must accurately and thoroughly identify the schemes of its adversaries.

Qalibaf said that Iran is currently confronting Israel and the United States simultaneously on four fronts: economic, cognitive, military, and counterterrorism. Of them, the economic warfare and the cognitive and psychological warfare began many years ago and have persisted to this day, growing increasingly complex and intense in recent years.

The remarks came as U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly "seriously considering authorizing a strike" against Iran, taking advantage of its nationwide unrest.

Protests have erupted in several Iranian cities since late December over the sharp fall of the rial and long-standing economic hardship. Iranian authorities have acknowledged the demonstrations and voiced willingness to address economic grievances, while warning against violence and vandalism.

Amid the ongoing protests, deadly clashes have been reported lately between police and what the government described as "rioters." However, no official death toll has been released.

Also on Sunday, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will address the country's economic situation and political environment in a televised interview later that day.
