Six films from Taiwan are being screened at the 16th Cross-Strait Film Exhibition, which is taking place from June 6 to 11 in Ya'an City in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Co-hosted by the China Film Foundation, the Cross-Strait Films Exchange Committee and the local Government of Ya'an, the film exhibition aims to promote in-depth exchanges in the film sector across the Taiwan Strait.

"Our film exhibition this year has introduced six new films that enrich our understanding of Taiwanese cinema, showcasing six different aspects of Taiwan films," said actor Zhang Yi.

The film exhibition is an important platform for cross-Strait film and cultural exchanges, and has successfully fostered collaboration and dialog in cross-Strait film projects.

"This event also offers many Taiwan directors, particularly young directors and actors, an opportunity to learn and share ideas in the mainland. Such interactions are indeed conducive to promoting the development of the film industry, deepening the sense of identity among filmmakers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and strengthening cooperation. Therefore, we look forward to contributing further to the exchange and cooperation of cross-Strait films on this platform," said Zhang Pimin, chairman of the China Film Foundation.

"I think the communication has been excellent, fostering cultural exchange. And everyone is delighted that the event is taking place in Ya'an, where giant pandas live," said Huo Jianqi, a director.

Cross-Strait film industry exchange meetings, themed screenings, and post-screening discussion sessions were among the events held at the exhibition.
