China supports the joint statement issued by 21 Arab and Islamic nations calling for peaceful resolution of the ongoing Israeli-Iranian conflict and for regional stability amid the escalation of tensions between the two countries, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.

Guo Jiakun, the spokesman, made the statement at a press conference in Beijing after the foreign ministers of 21 Arab and Islamic countries, including Egypt and Jordan, issued a joint statement on Monday concerning the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. The statement calls for respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and resolving disputes through peaceful means based on the principle of good neighborliness.

"Israel’s attacks on Iran have led to the spike of conflict in the region. It has become the world’s focus of attention. The most urgent priority is to bring about a ceasefire, take effective measures to avoid further escalation and prevent the region from spiraling into greater turmoil, and return to the track of seeking political settlement through dialogue and negotiation. This is the prevailing consensus of the international community," Guo said.

"China welcomes the joint statement released by Egypt and other Arab and Islamic countries and commends the effort of relevant countries in promoting deescalation. China stands ready to maintain communication with relevant parties and play a constructive role for the deescalation of the situation," said the spokesman.

China's movie industry is increasingly deriving its earnings from broader consumer economy.

Released during the 2025 summer season, the film "Nobody" became China's highest-grossing two-dimensional animated film -- and its success went beyond theaters.

Through licensing and brand partnerships, the movie has generated 2.5 billion yuan (about 358.3 million U.S. dollars) in retail sales to consumers, with more than 800 licensed products on the market.

Ranging from plush toys to food and home goods, the movie-related merchandise can be purchased from over 3,000 online and offline outlets.

Meanwhile, souvenir stores are crowded at Shanghai Disneyland's Zootopia themed land, with hats, plush toys, and collectibles seeing steady demand from visitors.

"China's film industry is no longer defined by box office revenue alone. It has become a new growth engine that links and energizes multiple cultural sectors. At the heart of every successful film is strong storytelling. High-quality productions create cultural value, which in turn enhances the commercial value of intellectual property and opens up new consumption opportunities. I believe China's film industry delivered an outstanding performance in the past year," said Chen Xiaoda, vice dean of Shanghai Vancouver Film School.
