Chinese President Xi Jinping and leaders of the five Central Asian countries attending the second China-Central Asia Summit posed for group photos ahead of the summit's opening at the Palace of Independence in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on Tuesday afternoon.

The summit, presided over by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was attended by President Xi, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Chinese president arrived in Astana on Monday for the summit.

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 20 pips to 7.0108 against the U.S. dollar Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.

The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.
