The three-day 2025 Summer Dovas Forum concluded in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Thursday, with participants highlighting the strong resilience and vitality of the Chinese economy, and agreeing that China's high-quality development will continue injecting impetus to the growth of world economy and bring greater development opportunities to the world.
The event, also known as 16th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, gathered more than 1,700 influential figures from more than 90 countries and regions to discuss innovative solutions to global challenges and new growth models.
The forum spotlighted five key areas: deciphering the world economy, outlook on China, industries disrupted, investing in people and the planet, and new energy and materials.
"The Chinese economy has maintained steady growth amid so many uncertainties in the world economy. And it is improving the quality of growth through sci-tech development and artificial intelligence," said Zhu Min, a member of the Senior Expert Advisory Committee of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges and former deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
"China's steady economic growth has brought hope to the rest of the world. People were attending this year's Summer Davos Forum to find a solution to development problems in their own countries. No matter how uncertain the world is, China is always a certain development factor," said Luo Rong, director of the Institute for International Economic Research of the Academy of Macroeconomic Research.
Participants at the forum also noted China's growing capability in sci-tech innovation, saying it's attracting foreign investment and providing global businesses with more cooperation opportunities.
"So, I would say, in terms of pushing the envelope on innovation, China is really at the forefront. And if the customer demand is there globally, certainly it's there in China, which supports more and ongoing innovation," said Drew Propson, head of technology and innovation in financial services of the World Economic Forum. "We are expanding our business not only in Japan and Southeast Asia, but also in Europe and North America. I think businesses share a strong desire for cooperation. Currently, the true core advantage for Chinese companies to go out lies in their ability to empower the transformation and upgrading of their foreign partners," said Wang Nan, senior vice president and secretary of the board of directors of Neusoft, a Chinese IT service provider.
