Foreign exhibitors have highly commented on the ongoing third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing, saying it provides a platform and opportunities for the development of individuals and companies.
With the theme "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," the five-day expo opened on Wednesday, drawing to it 651 companies and institutions from 75 countries and regions. Foreign exhibitors make up roughly 35 percent of the participants, underscoring the event's growing international influence.
In addition to corporate exhibition booths, many national exhibitions are also set up in the name of countries at the expo. The supply chain service exhibition area has featured many national exhibitions from Africa and Latin America.
In the national exhibition area of Rwanda, a 31-year-old man was busy receiving customers. This is his second time to attend the CICSE. The young man completed his postgraduate studies in China two years ago, and soon after returning to his country, he came back to continue his postgraduate studies in logistics engineering management.
"I came back because I saw this very huge potential and opportunities in China. (Doing business in China is) amazing, simple word, amazing. Opportunities are there," he said.
A Thai student who just graduated from the University of Science and Technology Beijing this year is attending the expo as a staff member of the Thai national exhibition zone. She said the expo has given her an opportunity to better utilize her expertise.
"It matches my major because I majored in international trade in both my undergraduate and graduate studies. China's economic development is faster than Thailand's, so I hope to develop in China for a long time and do business, because the Chinese market is large and there are many consumers," she said.
This year, Serbia has set up a national exhibition at the CISCE for the first time, which is located in the digital supply chain exhibition area. A total of 12 Serbian companies are participating in the exhibition.
"We have ICT companies, innovation companies and we wanted to present our innovation business potential to Chinese visitors. There is a lot of interest from Chinese companies to work and to do business with Serbia. We are happy to announce that we had more than 350 bilateral business meetings in just these two days. And we are very much looking forward to getting more contacts," said director of the Serbian national exhibition area.
