The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 59,219, with 143,045 injured since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted in 2023, Gaza's health authorities said in a statement on Wednesday.

In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli military operations in the enclave have claimed 113 lives and injured another 534, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, 34 people were killed and more than 644 were injured during the past 24 hours while receiving aid supplies.

The death toll since March 18 this year, following a brief ceasefire, has reached 8,363, while the number of injured stands at 31,004, the statement said.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said on Wednesday that the Israeli army attacked several places across the Gaza Strip that day, killing at least 31 Palestinians. It said that the Israeli troops attacked two aid distribution points, resulting in at least six deaths.

In addition, the Israeli army launched an airstrike on an apartment in Gaza City, killing at least nine people, including a pregnant journalist.

Hamas issued a statement condemning that the practice was a new crime of the Israeli army against Palestinian journalists, reflecting the forces' systematic attacks on Gaza reporters.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Wednesday that its army continued to take action against armed groups in Gaza. Over the past day, the Israeli Air Force launched strikes on about 120 targets in the region.
