Preparations have been completed for the release of doves and balloons as part of an upcoming grand gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, scheduled for Wednesday in Beijing.
The event will also include a military parade at the Tian'anmen Square.
At the gathering, a total of 80,000 doves, symbolizing peace, will be released at the Tian'anmen Square. All doves are provided by pigeon raisers from across Beijing.
Many of these raisers expressed pride in seeing their doves participate in this significant event.
"Our greatest joy of raising doves is to see them fly over the Tian'anmen Square. It is an unparalleled honor," said pigeon raiser Zhang Zhigang.
Zhang Zhenshan, another pigeon raiser, has had his doves participate in two national celebrations.
"Watching tens of thousands of doves flying over the Tian'anmen Square, including some of our own, fills us with immense pride. It's a matter of great significance," Zhang said.
In addition to the doves, 80,000 colorful balloons will also be released. A group of 600 students from the Beijing Police College has undergone two months of training to coordinate operations at this balloon release.
"I participated in the parade marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China when I was a junior school student, and it's an honor to take part in activities related to the upcoming grand parade as well," said Zheng Cengyue, a student.
The balloons will fully decompose after bursting and landing.
