A series of China's air defense weapons, including HQ-20, HQ-19 and HQ-29, made an appearance in China's V-Day military parade on Wednesday. These systems are capable of multi-phase and multi-layered missile interception, as well as air defense at long, medium and short ranges.

Over the years, HongQi ground-based air-defense and anti-ballistic missile family has seen an increasing number of members, forming a combat system at long, medium and short ranges, as well as high, medium and low altitudes, thus possessing capabilities of all-weather and all-round air defense. "In the defense network woven by the HongQi missiles, HQ-11 universal terminal defense weapon system is like a highly agile 'guard with a sword', featuring high firepower density and flexible mobile deployment and providing medium- and low-altitude, terminal defense for high-value targets," said Zhao Guokai, a member of the air defense weaponry formation.

At the National Day military parade in 2009, HQ-9 made its first public appearance. As a key force of the third-generation domestic medium- and high-altitude, medium- and long-range air defense missiles, its development process has witnessed the progress of China's military technology and the enhancement of national defense capabilities. The emergence of the HQ-9C further significantly improved China's air-defense and anti-ballistic missile combat capabilities.

"Compared with HQ-9B, each HQ-9C can be loaded with eight missiles, doubling the firepower density. Featuring one common launcher for multiple missiles and capable of air defense both at long and short ranges, its capabilities in medium- and long-range, medium- and low-altitude, saturation attack resistance, and electromagnetic interference resistance have been significantly enhanced, thus effectively improving combat effectiveness," said Liu Bingzhen, another member of the formation.

HQ-19 represents the advanced technological level of China in the field of missile technology. "Equipped with an 8×8 high-mobility wheeled chassis, HQ-19 can be loaded with six missiles, featuring large combat protection area and strong capability of breaking through defense and confrontation. It is a backbone equipment for anti-missile operations on our country's territory," said Fu Yunjiang, another member of the formation.
