A unique opening ceremony to welcome 12 adorable lion and tiger cubs was held on Thursday at the "kindergarten" of Chongqing Yongchuan Wild Animal World in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
At the opening ceremony, the caretakers placed the 12 cubs in strollers, capturing a memorable photo to mark their first day of school.
These six lion cubs and six tiger cubs will begin a unique growth journey in the animal kindergarten, where the caretakers will nurture their survival skills, helping them maintain natural behaviors and development. "The cubs' current diet mainly consists of milk and minced meat. We have also prepared special toys to encourage them to exercise, strengthen their coordination, and develop their hunting skills through play," said Shen Wei, a caretaker.
At the Wild Animal World, numerous cubs are born each year. As an essential part of the animal breeding and rescue system, the zoo engages in artificial rearing as well as providing attentive care for these young animals.
