The death toll in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip has risen to 71,266 since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on Oct 7, 2023, with the number of injuries reaching 171,222, Gaza's health authorities said on Monday.
Since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect on October 11, 2025, the death toll in the enclave has risen to 414, with 1,145 others injured, according to the health authorities.
The health authorities also issued a notice on Monday, saying that a two-month-old infant died in the Strip on Monday due to severe cold weather, bringing the death toll in Gaza caused by the storm and severe cold weather to three since the onset of winter.
Additionally, a Gaza resident died in a building collapse on Monday, bringing the death toll caused by storm-triggered building collapses in Gaza to 17 since winter began.
