China’s leading electric vehicle maker BYD on Monday unveiled its next-generation e-Bus Platform 3.0 and the flagship C11 model, marking the industry’s first mass-produced electric bus built on a full-domain 1,000-volt architecture with integrated chassis battery technology.

Built around core principles of efficiency, the e-Bus Platform 3.0 optimizes space utilization and energy performance, making electric buses more economical, safer, and smarter to operate.

According to emobility outlet electrive, the new platform features a full-domain 1,000-volt architecture and integrates lithium iron phosphate batteries using a cell-to-chassis (CTC) design. In this setup, BYD’s Blade cells are embedded directly into the flat chassis between the axles. As noted by CN EV Post, the system incorporates "the industry’s thinnest bus-dedicated Blade Battery" seamlessly within the chassis frame.

"From the very beginning of commercial vehicles production, BYD has been committed solely to new energy. [The e-Bus Platform 3.0] is built upon the first and second generations to create a brand-new electric bus platform. Its biggest advantage is that it maximizes BYD's core strengths in the 'three electrics' (battery, motor, and electronic control), by fully integrating the battery with the bus chassis," said Tian Chunlong, General Manager of BYD Commercial Vehicle Division.

The newly unveiled C11, measuring 11 meters in length, can operate in diverse environments such as high temperatures, extreme cold, plateaus, and mountainous terrain.

At the launch event in Hangzhou, BYD also debuted a range of systems tailored for new energy buses, including the "Yun Nian A" bus body control system, intelligent torque control system (iTAC), tire blowout control system (TBC), and Driver Assistance 2.0 for driver incapacitation, all of which significantly enhance handling stability and safety.

"Based on the e-Bus Platform 3.0, we can develop electric buses tailored to different markets, including Europe, Japan, South Korea, and Latin America. This year, overseas preliminary orders account for more than 80 percent of our total electric bus orders," Tian said.

Two major Qatari energy facilities shut down operations after being damaged during Iran's strikes targeting the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said on Tuesday, adding that the situation had been contained.

QatarEnergy announced on Monday that it had suspended liquefied natural gas (LNG) production following attacks on two of its energy facilities, and on Tuesday said it was suspending production of downstream natural gas products such as urea and methanol.

The shutdown sent gas prices skyrocketing on global energy markets, provoking fears of an energy crisis sparked by the conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking during his weekly press conference, Al-Ansari said that the decision to shut down the facilities was taken as a precaution, to ensure the safety of personnel and infrastructure after the strike damaged key production and processing sites.

"The damage was contained and now the operations to assess, technically, the safety of the facilities is underway. And from the defensive posture, as you have seen, we have been ready in monitoring and dealing with all of these attacks," he said.

Al-Ansari said that Qatar is committed to de-escalating the situation, and added that Qatar had not had any contact with Iran since Feb 28.

"Qatar's diplomatic stance has always been firm and clear: committed to peace, actively promoting de-escalation, advocating dialogue and consultation, and striving to resolve the conflict peacefully," he said.
