Members of a central delegation on Saturday continued to visit local officials and residents in various parts of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC).

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and head of the central delegation, led a group of delegation members to Altay's Burqin County.

During the visit, Wang stressed the need to prioritize border defense, strengthen and innovate social governance, integrate Xinjiang's unique cultural and tourism resources, and advance eco-prioritized, green development to provide high-quality ecological support for sustainable growth.

On Saturday afternoon Wang led the group back to Beijing after the visit.

Meanwhile, other delegation groups separately visited the city of Artux in the Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture of Kizilsu, Tacheng Prefecture, the cities of Yining and Turpan, and the XPCC-administered city of Alaer.
