Artificial intelligence-powered devices have significantly enhanced safety and enjoyment for tourists in east China's Zhejiang Province during the ongoing eight-day National Day holiday.
At the Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area in Taizhou City, an innovative exoskeleton robot has been introduced. This wearable device is designed to assist tourists with climbing, making the arduous ascent more accessible and enjoyable.
Wrapping around a wearer's waist and thighs, the exoskeleton robot senses the user's pace and movement, providing synchronized assistance to reduce joint strain and fatigue, alleviating the effort by about 40 percent.
At the West Lake Scenic Area in Hangzhou City, a bionic robot fish is employed to retrieve dropped items from the lake.
This smart device can dive to depths of up to 10 meters, effectively addressing the blind spots of traditional underwater patrols, assisting in tasks such as recovering dropped mobile phones for tourists.
"Every year, we receive hundreds of requests for help in recovering dropped mobile phones from the lake. Traditional manual methods, including using poles, are time-consuming and may not reach all areas. This bionic robot fish can access areas that are beyond human reach, effectively filling the gaps in underwater patrols," said Liu Yuping, a local police officer.
The City God Pavilion in Hangzhou has deployed the country's first 5G mobile emergency resuscitation vehicle in the scenic area, providing emergency treatment, science education and other services to tourists, ensuring their health and well-being during their visits.
Zhejiang province has also introduced AI-assisted drones to help direct traffic, alleviate congestion and prevent accidents on highways, which are experiencing a surge in traffic during the holiday period.
The drones patrol highways, capturing unusual traffic scenarios and reporting them to the traffic control centers, thereby enhancing the traffic management efficiency and improving safety for all vehicles.
