The Russia said on Wednesday that its forces continued their offensives in multiple directions, while Ukraine, on the same day, reported striking Russian military targets.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops continued attacking the Ukrainian army in the directions of Sumy, Kharkiv and Donetsk.
The Russian forces destroyed Ukrainian armored vehicles, air defense systems, electronic warfare base stations and ammunition depots, and attacked energy facilities that support the operation of Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, the ministry said.
Strikes were also launched on Ukraine's military transportation infrastructure and long-range drone storage points.
Also on Wednesday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces attacked key targets including concentration areas of Russian personnel, drone control points and air defense facilities, and destroyed Russian tanks, artillery systems, air defense systems, and tactical drones.
On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine made no secret of its preparations for a terrorist attack against Russia, and the new action plan approved by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky included consideration of using Tomahawk missiles.
She accused the European Union of instigating the United States to provide Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine, which showed that the EU had no intention of promoting peace.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to negotiations on the Ukrainian issue, and is willing to resolve the Ukrainian issue through political and diplomatic means.
The current obstacles to achieving this goal are not presented by Russia, but by the fact that European countries continue to incite Ukraine to prolong the conflict, said the spokesman.
In addition, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that providing Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine will cause great damage to the normalization of Russian-U.S. relations and herald the most dangerous tensions.
Lavrov expressed his belief that the U.S. side would recognize all the risks.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that he is scheduled to meet with Zelensky at the White House on Thursday. It is expected that the two presidents will make a discussion on providing Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, but Trump has not yet made a final commitment on this issue.
