China's export of new energy vehicles (NEVs) surged by 52 percent year on year in the first three quarters, reaching 2.32 million units, according to the latest data from the China Passenger Car Association.
In September alone, the export of Chinese NEVs hit 300,000, marking a remarkable 66 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
This year, China's primary export markets for NEVs have shifted from Russia to regions such as Central and South America and Europe. Notably, the Middle East has emerged as one of the fastest-growing markets for Chinese NEV exports.
"This year, we have made a breakthrough regarding the diversification of our export markets. Notably, we have seen significant growth in exports to the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, with the increases reaching nearly 50 percent in markets like the Middle East and the UK. This reflects a substantial enhancement in the competitiveness of Chinese products, driven by diversified technological advancements," said Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association.
