Russia on Saturday said its armed forces have gained control over a settlement in Zaporizhzhia, and Ukraine claimed to have attacked a Russian oil refinery.
In a report released on Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that Russian troops struck energy facilities supporting Ukraine's defense industry system, military airports, and the communication center of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence. Meanwhile, it has controlled a settlement in Zaporizhzhia.
In addition, according to the report, in the direction of Krasnoarmeysk (known as Pokrovsk in Ukraine), Russian forces continued launching offensives against the Ukrainian forces, and defeated the relief operations initiated by Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the same day that it has hit Russia's Ryazan Oil Refinery, which produces 84 tons of military fuel annually. Ukrainian troops also said they've executed a tactical withdrawal from Zaporizhzhia's Novovasylivka.
Yevgeny Balitsky, governor of the Zaporizhzhia region appointed by Russia, posted on social media on Saturday saying Ukraine launched attacks to the region's key infrastructure, causing temporary power outages for about 44,000 people. Power repair teams have started to restore electricity, he added.
The Ukrainian side has not issued any comment on this yet.
Also on Saturday, Rustem Umerov, secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, announced on social media that following negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, both sides have agreed to follow the prisoner swap deal previously reached in Istanbul, and 1,200 Ukrainian detainees are expected to be freed.
But Russia has not yet commented on the matter.
