China attaches importance to improving and developing relations with Britain but has not yet held discussions with the British side on the dates for Prime Minister Starmer's China visit, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun at a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.
Guo made the remarks in response to a media query about Starmer's alleged visit to China at the end of January 2026.
"China attaches importance to improving and developing China-Britain relations and is willing to strengthen exchanges with the British side at all levels. As far as I know, China has not yet held discussions with the British side on specific issues such as the date of Prime Minister Starmer's visit," Guo said.
