It is presented by BLAST! EVENTS, a pyrotechnics event company that has held similar world championship competitions in recent years for producers of the world’s most spectacular fireworks shows.

Tickets are available now at fireworkschampionship.com. “Early Bird” ticket prices range from $95 per person for general admission to $144 for reserved seats to $318 for “Lux Lounge” VIP tickets. Luxury suites with prime views of the show are also available. All prices include parking and fees, excluding applicable sales tax.

Unlike other fireworks shows, this fireworks competition features multiple elaborate displays throughout the evening. Four teams from around the world perform 12-15 minutes per show, with 15-minute entertainment-filled breaks between each show. The event kicks off with a world record attempt by Spanish fireworks icon Ricardo Caballer, who plans to incorporate cutting-edge fireworks and choreography.

“This International Fireworks Championship won’t be like any of the fireworks you’ve seen before – even in Las Vegas,” says Bruce Tyree, founder and CEO of BLAST! EVENTS. “These are incredibly intense and creative displays, exploding lower to the ground – and they’re all highly choreographed and synchronized to music. It’s a full-on sensory experience.”

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. for the Feb. 21 event, with the first fireworks show starting about 6 p.m. The program concludes around 8:30 p.m., when a world championship team will be crowned.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Alex DeBrincat extended his points streak to five games with two goals and an assist, and the Detroit Red Wings held off the Calgary Flames 4-3 on Wednesday night.

Axel Sandin Pellikka and Dylan Larkin also scored for Detroit, which won its fourth straight and moved past Boston and Tampa Bay for first place in the Atlantic Division.

Joel Farabee, Matt Coronato and MacKenzie Weegar scored for Calgary, which had its three-game winning streak snapped. Nazem Kadri had a pair of assists.

Making his third straight start, John Gibson made 34 saves for the Red Wings. Devin Cooley stopped 23 shots for the Flames.

DeBrincat’s 16 goals and 34 points through 31 games have him on pace for a career-best 42 goals and 90 points.

The Red Wings have won seven consecutive games against the Flames, their longest active winning streak against any team.

Detroit started fast with goals from DeBrincat and Sandin Pellikka in the opening five minutes.

After Calgary failed to convert on a pair of power plays early in the second period, Detroit responded shortly after with goals 1:28 apart from DeBrincat and Larkin to open up a 4-0 lead.

Calgary ignited the crowd with three goals in less than seven minutes in the third period.

Red Wings: At Edmonton on Thursday night.
