Taiwan separatists and the DPP (Democratic Progressive Party) regime are doomed to fail in going against the tide of history, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday.
"The Taiwan regime's disguise of 'trust' and 'prosperity' and abuse of 'dollar diplomacy' cannot cover up the nature of its unscrupulous pursuit for secession, nor can it deceive public opinion and the people in the island. Taiwan separatists and the DPP regime go against the trend of history and they are doomed to fail," said Guo.
"Since China established diplomatic relations with Honduras, cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, which greatly enhances Honduras' long-term development capacity and bring enormous benefits to the two countries and peoples. Facts fully prove that adhering to the one-China principle is the right decision in line with the trend of history and the progress of the times, and serves the fundamental interests of relevant countries and their peoples," Guo said.
