More than 70 percent of Japanese respondents said the price situation in the country has worsened, a government's annual survey showed on Friday.
According to the results of the poll from Japan Cabinet Office, 73 percent of respondents believed the situation regarding prices has deteriorated, as the figure has represented the highest percentage recorded since the government began tracking this specific metric in 1998.
Economic conditions were the second biggest concern, with 52 percent of respondents saying the state of the Japanese economy had deteriorated. The national finance ranked third, with 41 percent viewing the fiscal situation as worsening.
Japan Cabinet Office carried out the poll between October 23 and November 30 this year to gauge public perceptions of Japan's current situation.
