Global leaders, ambassadors, and celebrities have sent their best wishes for the new year through China Global Television Network (CGTN) as 2026 approaches.

"I want to wish everybody that is watching CGTN a wonderful new year of 2026, in which we will advance even more in the fight against climate change," said Andre Correa Do Lago, president of COP30.

"My most sincere wishes for prosperity, health and wellbeing in this new year. The beginning of a new year always represents an opportunity to renew our hope and our commitment to a more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable future," said Alfredo Ortuno Victory, Costa Rica's ambassador to China.

"The New Year is a time for holiday travel, booming business and family reunions. It is a very important thing for family members to gather together and pray together. We need dialogue and communication within families, between nations and peoples, and among cultures and civilizations," said Dr. Khalil Al-Khalil, Saudi Arabia's secretary general of Family Affairs Council.

"Happy New Year to all my friends in China and to everyone watching CGTN," said London West End singer John Owen-Jones.

"Happy New Year to all CGTN audiences around the world," said Hungarian cross-country skier and three-time Olympian Adam Konya.
