China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday.

Lin made the statement in response to a question regarding the recent terrorist activities in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province.

The Pakistani military said 18 innocent civilians were killed in Gwadar and Kharan districts, and during clearance operations and intense standoffs, 15 soldiers also lost their lives.

"China strongly condemns this attack, expresses deep condolences to the victims, and extends sincere sympathies to the injured and the families of the deceased. China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism, and will, as always, firmly support Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, maintaining social unity and stability, and protecting its people's safety," said Lin.
