Nearly 90 percent of the surveyed companies expressed satisfaction with China's business environment in 2025, with foreign firms rating it "excellent," according to a report released Saturday by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The China Business Environment Report 2025 showed that surveyed companies rated China's business environment 4.39 out of 5, marking a second consecutive year of improvement. Nearly 90 percent of the respondents said they were "satisfied" with the overall business climate.
Business operations remained stable with upward momentum, the report found. In 2025, nearly 70 percent of the surveyed companies reported stable or increased profits compared with the previous year, while over 70 percent of the foreign trade enterprises maintained or increased their order volumes.
A special section on foreign-invested enterprises revealed even stronger results. The surveyed foreign firms rated China's business environment 4.51 out of 5, reaching the "excellent" level. Some 94.9 percent of the foreign respondents expressed satisfaction, and 70.4 percent reported stable or growing profits year on year.
"With continued deepening of reforms and expansion of opening-up, China has achieved remarkable progress in building a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized first-class business environment. 70.4 percent of surveyed foreign enterprises maintained stable or increased profits year on year. 'Improved market conditions in their industries' and 'stabilization and recovery of China's economy' were cited as the main drivers of profit growth, reflecting that foreign enterprises continue to be bullish on the Chinese market," said CCPIT's spokeswoman Wang Wenshuai at a press conference on Saturday.
