BURCKHARDT COMPRESSION APPOINTS ALVARO GRANDE AS NEW HEAD OF SERVICES, US

Burckhardt Compression has made a key addition to its executive lineup with the appointment of Alvaro Grande, who will be joining the team in the US as Head of Services. The appointment is part of the expansion of the service division to broaden maintenance support infrastructure for compressor operators

Alvaro brings over 20 years of compression industry experience in operations, sales and engineering, with a proven track record in leadership roles across the Americas and Europe. His experience in after-sales service and component manufacturing will bring major benefits to customers, wherever they are located.

Alvaro comments: “I am looking forward to the challenge this role presents. Moving to Texas is an exciting prospect, bringing me to the hub of compressor operations in the US for Burckhardt Compression. My main task is to take the maintenance business to the next level and build on the strong foundations that are currently in place. We already provide an excellent service for operators of our compressors, and we want those with other brand machines to have access to the same level of expertise and reliability.”

Burckhardt Compression has a well-established reputation for high-quality service and long-term reliability in many industrial sectors. These key characteristics are beneficial to all industries, and the company aims to build a better partnership with operators of hyper compressors and machines in the petrochemical sector.

Alvaro concludes: “With the growing market for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the need to support existing infrastructure in other gas applications, upgrades and revamps of compressors are essential projects that require expert delivery. We will continue to build our network of service centers to ensure all operators have access to our industry-leading maintenance services.”

As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Burckhardt Compression has extensive knowledge and experience of all reciprocating compressors and can offer support throughout a machine’s lifecycle. Strategically positioned around the world, Burckhardt Compression service centers can provide local support to land-based and marine compressors to ensure extended reliability and efficiency.

HOUSTON (AP) — Clayton Kershaw will not be on the United States roster for the World Baseball Classic semifinals, with the retired pitcher being replaced by reliever Jeff Hoffman.

The U.S. made the move after its win over Canada on Friday night in advance of its semifinal matchup with the Dominican Republic on Sunday.

Kershaw, a three-time NL Cy Young award winner, retired at the end of last year after playing 18 MLB seasons. The left-hander came out of retirement to suit up for Team USA, but did not pitch in any of the team's five games in the WBC.

The 33-year-old Hoffman spent last season with the Blue Jays, where he went 9-7 with a 4.37 ERA in 71 games.

Kershaw will remain with the team through the tournament despite being removed from the roster.
