South China's Hainan Province held its first spring job fair of the year on Sunday, drawing strong interest from university graduates.

The event, part of a broader provincial employment campaign, brought together 175 employers offering more than 2,700 positions across sectors such as internet services, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and food production.

Backed by policies associated with the Hainan Free Trade Port, jobs related to international trade and high-tech industries proved particularly popular among the roughly 2,000 participating students.

"I wish to land a job related to foreign trade or cross-border businesses. Since Hainan has started to operate as a separate customs zone, foreign trade businesses might be more appealing. The separation has indeed brought more development opportunities to Hainan, and that is particularly attractive for us upcoming graduates," said university student Zhang Xingyu.

Beyond recruitment, the event also offered career orientation services for students to learn about the job market. Volunteers and government workers helped students map out career paths, improve resumes, and learn more about talent-support policies.

"We now focus more on personalized efforts targeting individual graduates by transforming regular activities into immersive experiences, refine our services, and specify our guidance. We aim to bridge between the talent demands of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the efforts to keep our young students to stay for personal development in Hainan, and better serve both sides," said Zhao Wei, head of Hainan's Human Resources Development Bureau.

Around Monday midnight, multiple explosions occurred in Tehran and the neighboring city of Karaj, prompting the activation of the country's air defense systems.

Furthermore, Iranian mobile phone users have been unable to access internet services since the conflict began on Feb 28, which have not been restored so far.
